Education

  • The project's objectives are to identify children with disabilities, provide parents with counselling, give them special education and therapeutic interventions, train teachers, and enrol them in regular schools alongside other children. The project's current scope of work is limited to a few blocks in Jamshedpur, including East Insghbhum. There is a great need to increase the work area.
  • The majority of the disabled children identified as project participants come from low-income, rural or semi-urban households. Children from numerous households have begun attending school since the project's intervention, and many of them are the family's first-time students.
  • Among the project's main operations are the training of carers and teachers in handling and managing children with disabilities. Over the course of the project's seven years of operation, more than 50 children with disabilities have been enrolled in schools.

Livelihood Project

  • This project aims to identify people with disabilities, assess their skills and educational needs, provide them with training, and help them find employment in various companies and earn a living.
  • People with disabilities in East Singhbhum district, where the project is taking place, generally come from the lower economic strata of society, where monthly household incomes are disastrously low. Job and employment opportunities in these districts are very limited. People with disabilities do not want to move to cities to earn a living. This project attempts to accommodate people with disabilities in and near their residences and provide them with living support, but this is a challenge.
  • After training, people with disabilities got jobs in companies Reliance Fresh, Big Bazar, Bazar Kolkata, to name a few.
